Guitar Repair and Building Program – Expenses
All students, regardless of state/country of origin,
pay resident/in-state tuition for the guitar program.
Tuition for the Guitar Repair & Consturction Program
in the 2009-2010 academic year is $177.06 per credit. Tuition for
2010-2011 will likely increase.
This rate does not include school and program fees. For more specific information, refer to the "Becoming a Student" page on the Minnesota State College Southeast Technical web site where you will find contact information for the financial aid department.
Tools and Materials
The cost of required tools will range between $1500 and $2000, and additional materials and parts for building an acoustic guitar will range between $250 and $600. *It is not necessary to spend more than the minimum to build a very high quality excellent sounding instrument!
Archtop Construction (Guitar, mandolin or violin) - Second year guitar students
Tools & Text approx. $275.00
Parts & Materials *$350.00 – 650.00
Electric Guitar Construction - First year guitar students, spring semester
Parts & Materials *$250.00 – 500.00
In addition to all of the above, students need to be prepared to cover their room, board and transportation expenses in order to attend the program.
