Guitar Repair and Building Program Instructors

• John Reed

John Reed is a graduate of the Musical String Instrument Repair Program, has apprenticed in violin construction with David Folland of Northfield, Minnesota, and has also been an instructor at Minnesota State College Southeast Technical since the early 1990's. Most recently John has worked in research and development at McPherson Guitars in Sparta, Wisconsin.

In his own words

"It is my belief that every one who attends Southeast Tech comes here with some talents. I think that what each individual does with that talent, is up to their sense of curiosity, discipline, and ability to come to class and do the work. My job is to give students every chance to succeed with as many different approaches that I can find to help you. Both of these elements need to be brought together in a mutual sense of respect in the learning process."
