Guitar Repair and Building Program – Tools

Every technician working in the field of guitar repair and construction has tools of their own to use. Students are required to purchase many specialized, professional-grade hand tools, which will become theirs to keep and use over a lifetime.

For the program we have put together lists of required tools. Students will receive tool lists with all the specific information after they have applied to the college and been accepted into the program.

Some tools must be purchased prior to the start of school, others purchased the first day of school. To help our students keep the cost of purchasing tools down, we work with our vendors to purchase items in bulk at a price not available to the individual.

Working in the guitar repair field does not require that you have a large shop full of expensive power tools. The lists we’ve put together are what are required to perform the hands-on work throughout the year.

It is important to understand what tools are required to have prior to the first day of school and the costs involved in the program. The inability to purchase the necessary tools makes it impossible to compete this intensive program.
