Band Instrument Repair Program - Tools

Most tools and supplies used in band instrument repair come from vendors that specialize in the tools of the trade. Many of these tools are specific to particular instruments. We also use tools from hardware and automotive supply stores as well as jewelry repair and machine tool suppliers. Students purchase their own collection of hand toos, supplies, adhesives and the like, creating a tool kit which they will use throughout their careers.

Our shops are well equipped with the larger, more expensive tools typically owned by most repair shops, including metal lathes, dent machines and custom tools. The program is responsible for designing many tools used by technicians around the globe.
